Mayil means “Peacock” – the Vahana or Vehicle of the Lord. This work of Arunagirinathar, like the Vel Viruththam, is devoted to the glorification of the Peacock, which has also been described in Arunagirinathar’s different works. This also is a work of 11 poems.
